Position Overview:
A high-profile professional is seeking a house couple who will provide excellent attention to detail and demonstrate the utmost integrity. The house couple must be able to perform deep cleaning and maintain all areas of the homes, both interior and exterior. The role will support the Principals from their Hamptons home and apartment, with occasional travel as needed to additional properties in both Miami, FL, and New York, NY.
Responsibilities:
Day to day for Head Groundskeeper
Perform handyman duties as needed to maintain functionality and appearance of the property includingchanging light bulbs, performing yardwork, ensuring mechanical room is in working order, etc.
Provide care for house pets and chickens including walking, feeding, veterinary appointments, groomingappointments, and routinely picking up and disposing of any waste
Maintain vehicles including refilling gas tanks, car washes, oil changes, brakes, tires, and routine checks toensure optimal performance
Run errands as needed (e.g., purchasing supplies and household inventory items, picking up prescriptions,dropping off and picking up drycleaning, receiving packages, etc.)
Day to day for Head Housekeeper
Walk the interior of the property (main house, guest house, pool house) daily and inspect for anymaintenance related needs or visual signs of damage such as:Inspect fixtures/lights (e.g., look for cobwebs, dead light bulbs, and broken items)
Inspect all appliances (e.g. refrigerators, stoves, microwaves, etc.)
Inspect all plumbing fixtures (e.g., run all bathroom and kitchen faucets, and flush all toilets)
Inspect for any signs of insects or pests
Perform systems check (e.g., turn on/off TVs and audio system, ensure telephone/internetsystems are online, printers are functioning)
Check wine cellar is set to proper temperatures
Gym workout equipment is clean and in good working order
Supervise vendor visits to ensure tasks are completed properly, and coordinate with family office team onfuture visits and follow ups as needed
Conduct thorough deep cleaning in all bedrooms, bathrooms and common areas including washing,dusting, polishing, vacuuming, sweeping, and mopping
Perform laundry tasks including washing garments using machines or handwashing as necessary, sorting,ironing, folding, and distributing accordingly
Manage household organization including closets, pantries, shelving, etc. and ensure adequate stocklevels of household supplies and cleaning materials
Spring preparation for Principals’ arrival (in addition to day to day responsibilities):
While Principals are onsite (in addition to day to day responsibilities):
Each morning, place all poolside furniture, cushions, and open umbrellas
Each evening, ensure all poolside furniture, cushions, and umbrellas are brought indoors and stored in thepool house
Retrieve newspaper for the Principal daily
Coordinate with Chef to assist with meal service and cleanup
Provide white glove level service for all social engagements hosted at the residence including settingtablescapes, organizing rental furniture as needed, serving cocktails and meals tableside
Coordinate with Principal’s administrative teams to assist with printing and prepping materials as needed
Setup bike equipment including pulling clothing, helmets, and hydration drinks
Prepare massage room and equipment as needed
Assist Principal with planting vegetables and new flowers as directed by Principal
Prepare any required supplies for children’s extracurriculars such as riding clothing, proper footwear,camping gear, etc.
Provide driving services as required
Principals’ departure/during off season (in addition to day to day responsibilities):
Ensure water for chickens is placed in designated heated area
Place all plants in the greenhouse to repurpose for the following summer
Clean all outdoor furniture and cushions, and store in basement
Coordinate with family office to winterize irrigation systems, fountains, landscaping, etc.
Coordinate with family office to schedule pool and spa closing in October
Clear all driveways, walkways, doors, and windows of snow as needed
Repaint mechanic room as needed
Prepare residence for potential snowstorms by securing all doors and windows, and placing appropriateequipment in designated areas to prevent leaks
Requirements:
10 years + experience
Ability to manage your time efficiently
Work well unsupervised
Groundkeeper must have ability to lift 25 pounds
Handle maintenance and cleaning
Ability to maintain a professional appearance and interact positively with guests
Ability to work well with a team
Travel between Principal’s New York City and Southampton properties as needed
Open to working weekends
Hours/Schedule:
During the summer months of June, July and majority of August, Principal resides F/T in Southampton andNew York City
During the months of September, October and November, Principal will travel to Southampton forreligious holidays
Principal’s adult children will visit the residence throughout the year without Principal
Typical offseason schedule is 9-5; hours will fluctuate when Principals are onsite
