Nanny

A busy family in Lake Forest, IL is seeking a nurturing and energetic nanny who has special needs experience to join the family to care for their 4 and 6-year-old.  They must have a passion for childcare, creativity in play, and a warm, patient demeanor with good organizational skills.

Would love someone who can travel with the family once a year when they go on vacation to Florida but not a deal breaker.

Responsibilities:

  • Mom is home and she will tag team with the kids for pick-up and drop-offs
  • The son has epilepsy - on a lot of meds, takes a nap in the afternoons after he gets home at 11:00 from school, and must be able to handle his medication and seizure episodes.
  • Watch the kids once in a while on the weekend for date night and get paid extra for your time. 
  • Engage with the kids in stimulating activities, playtime, and educational exercises. 
  • Someone who can swim since the kids go to their parent's pool in the summer and the beach near the home
  • Meal prep, making dinner, healthy simple meals
  • Help with errands, grocery shopping
  • Assist with light household tasks related to childcare, such as tidying toys and children's laundry.
  • Be attentive to the emotional and developmental needs of both children.
  • Communicate regularly with parents regarding the children's well-being and any concerns or updates.

What Works Best for Family: Patience, kindness, fun, and a genuine love for children. Excellent communication skills and reliability.  Someone who has experience with kids and special needs.

Position Requirements

  • Work Hours: Monday - Friday 9 am - 5 pm, 
  • Languages: English
  • Experience: 5 Years of Experience
  • References: Minimum of 2 References
  • Background: Pass stringent background checks and drug testing upon offer of hire
  • Laundry: Just for the kids
  • Driving: Required
  • Previous experience working with toddlers, preferably in a childcare or nanny role.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize the needs of multiple children.
  • CPR and first aid certification preferred.
  • Willingness to undergo a background check and provide references.

Position Compensation

  • Salary: $30 - $35/hr,
  • Vacation:   2 weeks
  • Living Accommodations:  Live Out
