Job Title: Private Nanny/Educator for 8-Year-Old Boy in Chestnut Hill, Boston

Location: Chestnut Hill, Boston, MA

Family Overview: A loving family in the Chestnut Hill area is seeking a dedicated and experienced Private Nanny/Educator for their 8-year-old son, Max. Max will be attending Brimmer and May School starting in the upcoming school year and is transitioning to Boston from China. The family predominantly speaks Mandarin at home and is looking for a candidate who can facilitate a smooth transition for Max, both culturally and academically.

Job Type: Full-Time (Live-In or Live-Out)

Start Date: August 2024

Salary: $35 to $45 per hour

Responsibilities:

  • Provide personalized care and education to Max, assisting him with his transition to a new school and environment.
  • Pick up Max from Brimmer and May School and transport him to extracurricular activities.
  • Offer support with homework and reinforce learning in English and other school subjects.
  • Create a structured, engaging, and supportive learning environment at home.
  • Develop and implement educational activities that cater to Max's interests and school curriculum.
  • Communicate effectively with Max’s parents to provide regular updates on his progress and any areas of concern.
  • Assist in fostering a bilingual environment, supporting Max in both Mandarin (or Cantonese) and English.

Requirements:

  • Fluency in Mandarin or Cantonese is highly preferred.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Education or a related field.
  • State Certification and/or at least 1 year of educational classroom experience.
  • Valid driver’s license and a reliable vehicle for transportation.
  • Previous experience working as a Nanny or Educator.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Ability to create a nurturing and safe environment for a young child.
  • Flexibility to adapt to the family's schedule and needs.
