Unique Caregiver/Companion opportunity to live on the beautiful island of Anguilla… Looking to hire immediately!

Job Description:
Seeking Full-Time Caregiver/Companion to assist with caring for an elderly female with early-onset dementia. Candidate must be kind, patient, discreet, health conscious, and enjoy a quiet lifestyle. Employee will reside in the client’s home in Anguilla with a private bedroom and bathroom. Previous experience (3+yrs.) working with Alzheimer’s patients is a must. 

Daily responsibilities include, but are not limited to: 

• Be available for the client from 8 am to 8 pm (includes downtime when the principal is sleeping and a 2 hour break in the afternoon).
• Assist House Manager/Housekeeper with dishes, sweeping, laundry, and general cleaning, as needed.
• Grocery shopping.
• Errands (i.e. Pickup up pre-ordered meals).
• Cooking/meal preparation. - Someone who loves to cook is preferred! 
• Email a nightly report to the client’s US-based daughter and assistant detailing how the day was spent, with special attention to notes on food and water intake. 
• Available for frequent communication (phone, e-mail, Zoom) with the client’s US-based assistant and family members.  
• CPR training is a plus. 

Additional details:

• The schedule will include one day off a week (Negotiable). 
• One-year minimum commitment but prefer long-term  
• Valid Passport required.  

What Works Best for Family: Someone who is kind, caring, and discreet. Must have a sense of humor and show a genuine interest in the principal. Someone who is not overbearing, is calm, happy, and diplomatic as it relates to household dynamics, and carries themselves in a mature way is the best fit. Someone who loves cooking and is a good cook and can be unintrusive in the way food and drinks are given to the principal. The family has mentioned she doesn't eat much, so things need to be finessed with her. Someone who will not baby her. Must be comfortable living on an Island and enjoying a quiet lifestyle.

Location:
*Anguilla, island is in the eastern Caribbean Sea, a British overseas territory. It is a 45-minute ferry ride from the island of Saint Maarten/Martin. 
*Other large islands in the vicinity of Anguilla include the British Virgin Islands (95 miles), U.S. Virgin Islands (98 miles), Antigua (114 miles), Saint Kitts and Nevis ( 75 miles), and Montserrat (116 miles).

About the Family

Adults: 1
Current Staff: Full-time Housekeeper who lives in, and a handyman who comes to the property daily to check in for a few hours

Position Responsibilities

• Housekeeping: Light Housekeeping Required, Shared Housekeeping Required
• Cooking: Help Start/Prep for Dinner, Plain Cooking Required,
• Laundry: Light laundry, only if needed
• Errands: Grocery shopping and meal pick-up (take out)
• Driving: Required

Position Requirements

• Work Hours: - 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM (with downtime in the middle of the day) - Day off TBD 
• Languages: Must communicate well in English
• Experience: 03 Years of Experience
• References: Minimum of 2 References
• Background: Background check upon a contingent offer of hire
• Personality Traits: Sense of humor, calm, happy, discreet, cooperative, flexible, kind, not overbearing, friendly, mature, strong work ethic, communicative, and positive.

Position Compensation

• Salary: $35-$45/hour, DOE, Negotiable for the right candidate
• Living Accommodations: Live-In - Private bed/bath
