Part-Time Preschool Teacher Assistant

Location: Raleigh, NC

Job Type: Part-time (Monday – Friday, 9 AM – 1 PM)

Salary: $15 - $20/hour

Overview:

A private business in Raleigh, NC, is seeking a dedicated Preschool Teacher Assistant to join its small, private preschool exclusively designed for the children of its employees. The preschool serves up to 10 children, ranging from infancy to kindergarten, and focuses on providing a nurturing environment with a high-quality educational experience.

Key Responsibilities:

Teaching:

• Provide individualized attention to support children’s unique learning needs, fostering their cognitive, emotional, and physical development.
• Create a safe, engaging classroom environment that promotes curiosity, creativity, and learning.
• Lead "Learning-Through-Play" activities with younger students while older students participate in traditional learning.

Supportive Duties:

• Assist with classroom organization, including tidying up after activities and maintaining a clean and orderly learning space.
• Participate in team meetings and contribute to the ongoing development of the preschool program.
• Perform daily maintenance and sanitation tasks to ensure a clean and safe classroom environment.
• Assist in serving lunch and snacks to children.
• Record children’s activities and needs in the parent communication tool.

Qualifications:

• A strong understanding of early childhood development and educational best practices is preferred.
• Prior childcare experience is required.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with the Director/Lead Teacher and staff.
• Must be able to lift 40 pounds and assist with diaper changes and potty training.

• Pediatric/Infant CPR and First Aid
• Federal Background Check through NCDEE
• TB Screening
• Health Check-Up
• Completion of ongoing continuing education courses during employment
