Job Overview:
We are seeking a trustworthy and dependable Nanny/Housekeeper to join our family and help care for our two daughters, ages 3 and 6. The ideal candidate will be warm, loving, and firm, with a high-energy, imaginative approach to childcare. Organization and adaptability are key, as our family adjusts to a busy schedule and works through unpacking from a recent move.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Childcare:

    • Pick up the 3-year-old from preschool at 12:30 PM (2 days/week).
    • Engage both children in creative, imaginative play (e.g., coloring, dancing, building forts) and minimize screen time.
    • Supervise and assist with daily tasks, such as making beds and organizing toys, while fostering independence in the children.
    • Walk the family dog as part of the afternoon routine.
    • Pick up the 6-year-old from the bus stop across the street at 3:45 PM and drive to after-school activities as needed.
    • Administer the older daughter's nightly inhaler and maintain vigilance to ensure it is not forgotten.
    • Assist with bath time at 6 PM while mom prepares dinner.
  • Housekeeping:

    • Tidy and organize the home, focusing on tasks such as laundry, straightening up, and unpacking remaining boxes.
    • Maintain an efficient schedule to complete light housekeeping tasks before picking up the children.
    • Take the initiative in maintaining a clean and organized environment, involving the children in simple, age-appropriate chores.

Qualities We’re Looking For:

  • High energy, artistic, and creative, with a love for engaging children in imaginative play.
  • Warm, kind, and nurturing while being firm and able to hold boundaries.
  • Calm under pressure, with excellent time management and adaptability.
  • Dependable and detail-oriented, ensuring important tasks (like administering medication) are completed without fail.
  • A good communicator who aligns with parents on discipline and childcare approaches.

Requirements:

  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for driving to activities.
  • Ability to manage household tasks without getting distracted.
  • Comfortable with pets and able to walk the family dog.
  • Experience with young children and a proactive, initiative-driven mindset.
