Dog Caretaker & Personal Assistant Position 

Full-Time, Salaried Position with Travel Requirements 
Primary Role: Professional Dog Caretaker 

Seeking an experienced, passionate dog care professional to provide dedicated care for a medium-sized dog while supporting the owner through personal assistance duties. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in dog handling and be comfortable with a lifestyle that involves seasonal relocation between Puerto Rico and New England.  The principal is also considering a second puppy in the near future 

Location & Schedule 
- Split-year residence between: 
- Puerto Rico (December - May) 
- New England (June - November) 
- Must be available to relocate and travel between locations 
- Full-time position with flexible hours based on owner's schedule 

Essential Dog Care Responsibilities 
- Serve as the primary caretaker for a medium-sized dog, working in close coordination with the owner 
- Provide professional dog handling services including daily walks, exercise, and enrichment activities 
- Demonstrate proven experience handling large and dominant dogs 
- Shadow owner during their time with the dog to ensure consistent care and exercise routine
- Provide full-time dog sitting services during owner's travel periods, including staying at the owner's residence 
- Coordinate with veterinarians and other pet care professionals as needed
- Ensure proper feeding, medication administration, and maintenance of the dog's schedule 

Personal Assistant Responsibilities 

Calendar & Schedule Management 
- Maintain and organize daily, weekly, and monthly calendars
- Coordinate appointments, meetings, and social engagements 
- Manage travel arrangements and itineraries 
- Ensure smooth transitions between seasonal residences 

Household Management 
- Oversee household operations in both locations 
- Coordinate with housekeeping, maintenance, and service providers 
- Manage household inventory and supplies 
- Assist with property maintenance scheduling
- Handle utility and service setup/transfers between residences 

Administrative Support 
- Process and organize important documents and correspondence
- Assist with email management and communication 
- Handle basic bookkeeping and expense tracking 
- Maintain filing systems, both digital and physical 
- Coordinate with professional service providers (accountants, lawyers, etc.) 

Personal Support 
- Run essential errands (grocery shopping, dry cleaning, etc.)
- Assist with gift purchasing and special occasions 
- Coordinate personal shopping when requested 
- Handle shipping and logistics between residences 
- Assist with social and family obligations as needed 

Project Management 
- Help coordinate home improvement or maintenance projects
- Assist with special events or entertainment planning 
- Manage vendors and contractor relationships 
- Research and coordinate services as needed 

Required Qualifications 
-
Minimum 3 years of professional dog handling experience
- Demonstrated experience with large and/or dominant dog breeds
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record 
- Valid passport and ability to travel freely between locations
- Excellent organizational and time management skills 
- Strong communication abilities in English (Spanish proficiency a plus)
- Professional demeanor and attention to detail 
- Physical ability to handle dog walking and care duties 
- Flexibility to adapt to changing schedules and locations 
- Proficiency with common software (MS Office, Google Suite, etc.)
- Experience with household or executive assistance preferred
