Housekeeper

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Housekeeper for a part-time to full-time position in a private residence on the Upper East Side. The role requires flexibility to accommodate the client’s schedule, with increased on-site presence when the client is in residence.

Responsibilities:

  • Cleaning & Maintenance:
    • Clean the residence thoroughly once a week when the client is not in residence.
    • Perform daily cleaning and maintenance during the client’s visits, following established cleaning regimens for each surface and application.
  • Product & Supply Management:
    • Use only the products provided in the home, restocking all cleaning supplies and toiletries as needed.
    • Ensure the refrigerator and pantry are stocked according to the client’s minimum requirements before each visit.
    • Monitor expiration dates on food items and replace those expiring within two weeks.
  • Laundry & Linens:
    • Coordinate the cleaning of delicate laundry, linens, and items requiring dry cleaning.
    • Arrange transportation of laundry and dry-cleaning items to offsite third-party services and track all outgoing items in coordination with XL (property management company).
  • Household Organization:
    • Restock food and beverages as instructed prior to the client’s visits.
    • Maintain detailed knowledge of cleaning products and practices as instructed by the owner’s representatives or XL.
  • Property Access & Security:
    • Provide access to contractors as needed and ensure the residence is secured at the end of the day, in collaboration with XL.

Schedule:

  • Cleaning once a week when the client is not in residence.
  • Daily presence (hours currently 11 AM–3 PM) when the client is in residence, with potential for expanded hours as needed.
  • Flexibility is required to accommodate changing needs and schedules.

Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in high-end residential housekeeping, with excellent references.
  • Proficiency in handling delicate fabrics, fine surfaces, and specialty cleaning products.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage inventory and supplies.
  • Ability to follow detailed cleaning instructions and routines.
  • Discretion, reliability, and a professional demeanor.
  • Flexibility to adapt to a dynamic schedule.
