Family Assistant Needed in Denville, NJ - Live-in or Live-out

About the Family:
This family is looking for a warm, reliable, and experienced Family Assistant to support their household and three daughters. The family has previously hosted au pairs but is now seeking a better fit for this phase of their lives.

The family has three daughters: a 17-year-old who is independent and leaving for college in the summer, a 14-year-old who needs occasional transportation for sports, and an 8-year-old who is the primary focus of care. Responsibilities for the 2 youngest include school pickup, meal prep, homework help, and activity engagement. She participates in cheerleading, soccer, and softball. The household also has two friendly yellow labs, who are very much apart of the family.

Schedule:

• Monday - Friday, 2:00 PM - 8:00 PM (30 hours per week)
• Summer & Holiday Schedule: 9:00 AM - 7:00 PM

Responsibilities:

• After-school care for the 8-year-old, including meal preparation, homework help, and driving to activities.
• Assisting with driving for the 14-year-old’s sports schedule.
• Light household tasks, including tidying up, children’s laundry, and keeping the youngest child’s room organized.
• Meal prep/cooking for the family.
• Taking the dogs for walks or to the dog park.

The family has professional cleaners who come every two weeks, so deep cleaning is not required.

Ideal Candidate:

• Minimum 5-7+ years of experience as a Family Assistant or in a similar role.
• Enjoys and is comfortable with sports/athletic activities with the girls.
• Patient, reliable, friendly, and respectful.
• Comfortable with dogs and willing to engage with them as part of the daily routine.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.

Compensation & Benefits:

• Hourly Rate: $25 - $35 per hour (based on experience)
• Benefits: PTO, paid holidays off
• Family car available for work-related transportation
• A private bedroom & bathroom will be provided if candidate prefers live-in.
