Part-Time Housekeeper/Laundress – Upper East Side

Compensation: $35–$40 per hour (potentially higher for the right fit)
Schedule: Monday, Wednesday, Friday, 9 AM–5 PM (flexible for the right candidate); potential to expand to five days per week over time
Start Date: ASAP

A single mother in the Upper East Side is seeking an experienced, detail-oriented, and proactive Housekeeper/Laundress to assist with the upkeep of her home. The household includes a 12-year-old daughter (present every other week) and a college-aged son (returning in May).

This position offers the potential to transition into a split-home role in the future, as the family is in the process of acquiring a second home.

Responsibilities:

  • Laundry & Wardrobe Care: Washing, spot cleaning, ironing, steaming, and organizing clothing. Sheets must be ironed.
  • Home Organization: Closet/drawer organization, seasonal wardrobe changes, unpacking deliveries, keeping inventory, and ordering supplies.
  • Errands: Weekly grocery shopping, dry cleaning, and other household-related errands.
  • Kitchen Assistance: Light meal prep, washing and cutting vegetables/fruits, following recipes (must accommodate daughter’s celiac diet).
  • Appliance & Storage Maintenance: Cleaning and organizing the refrigerator, oven, and household appliances.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Professional, discreet, and proactive—able to look around and anticipate what needs to be done without micromanagement.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented—follows a list but also takes initiative.
  • Flexible and adaptable—able to accommodate changing circumstances.
  • Personable, calm, and quiet—someone who values discretion and professionalism.
  • Seeking long-term employment and enjoys being part of a family environment.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of housekeeping experience in a private home
  • Excellent work history and references
  • Driver’s license (preferred for when they have their 2nd home) but not a must
  • Fully vaccinated
  • Non-smoker
  • Good English fluency, but spanish speaking is great!
