Experienced Nanny with UK-Based Childcare Background
Location: Greenpoint, Brooklyn, NY
Start Date: Flexible
Schedule: 20-30 hours/week to start, with option to grow into full-time within the year. Family is open to 2-4 days per week, 8 AM - 6 PM, and they are flexible for the right candidate who meets all requirements.
About the Family: First-time, British parents are searching for a passionate, educated, and experienced nanny to care for their 13-month-old daughter. With plans to grow their family in the future, they’re looking for a confident professional who can bring a wealth of knowledge and a fun, engaging approach to childcare. This family thrives on a structured, activity-filled routine, including playdates and local outings, and they’re eager to find a nanny who can match their energy and passion for development.
Ideal Candidate:
- The ideal candidate is a career nanny with 5+ years of experience, and holds a Bachelor’s degree.
- They should be highly knowledgeable about child development and bring a professional approach to caregiving.
- The family is looking for someone energetic, engaging, and active—a nanny who is fun, upbeat, and willing to get down on the floor to play.
- A nanny with international experience would be highly preferred. Someone who has lived abroad, particularly in the UK or Europe, would be a great fit. Norland Nanny training would be a plus.
- Good communicator with fluency in English.
- A musical background would be a huge bonus. If the nanny plays an instrument and enjoys incorporating music into playtime, that would be highly valued.
- The nanny must be fully vaccinated, including TDAP, covid, & the flu shot.
Responsibilities:
- Handling child-related laundry and light tidying.
- Preparing healthy meals for the child only.
- Engaging in developmental play and activities.
- Accompanying the family on occasional travel in the future (including trips to the UK).
Compensation & Benefits:
- $30-$40/hour
- 2 weeks of PTO, sick days, paid holidays
- MetroCard provided
This is a live-out position, and the family is not considering candidates who require relocation.
