Position: Family Assistant

Location: Massapequa, NY (Primary Home) + Hampton Bays, NY (Summer Home)

Rate: $30+/hour DOE

Schedule:  School Year: Monday–Friday, 12pm –7pm; Summer: Monday–Friday, 9am–4pm + Occasional Evenings/Saturdays

A busy family in Massapequa, NY is looking for a reliable and proactive Family Assistant to support their busy household. The family includes five children ranging in age from 6 to 16, a stay-at-home mom, and a dad who works from home but travels frequently. They’re seeking someone who can be a second set of hands—helping keep the home running smoothly while supporting after-school routines. The ideal candidate is organized, calm, takes initiative, and works well in the background without being an overwhelming presence. This is a long-term position with summers spent in Hampton Bays, just an hour away from their primary home.

Responsibilities:

• Laundry for the family (folding, organizing, putting away)
• Light housekeeping (no deep cleaning – just tidying, keeping clutter down)
• Household organizing and restocking
• Running errands (groceries, returns, dry cleaning, etc.)
• Help with basic meal prep
• Homework help for school-aged kids
• Driving to and from after-school activities. Use of family car
• Be a support to mom, work as a team
• Travel to Hampton Bays during summer (homes are 1 hour apart)
• Be open to CPR and Heimlich training (family will cover training cost)

Qualifications and Requirements:

• Reliable, kind, and kid-friendly
• Proactive and thoughtful—able to anticipate needs
• Discreet, calm, and respectful of household boundaries
• Has a valid driver’s license + reliable personal vehicle
• Willing to get CPR and Heimlich certified (family will pay for training)
