Start Date: May 19 - 23 (5 days)
Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:30 PM
Compensation: $30–$35/hour
Duration: May 19 - 23 (5 days)
Children: 2 children (ages 7 and 2, both potty trained)
Pets: 1 small senior dog and 3 friendly cats (no pet care beyond letting a dog into the yard)

Position Summary:

We are seeking a compassionate, proactive, and energetic Temporary Nanny/Housekeeper to support a stay-at-home parent recovering from surgery. This live-out, full-time role requires someone confident in managing both young children and household responsibilities with minimal supervision. You will essentially "step into mom’s shoes" during her surgery and recovery.

Daily Schedule and Responsibilities:

Morning Routine:

  • Arrive at 8:30 AM.

  • Walk both children to school drop-off (2 blocks, ~6-minute walk).

  • Return with the 2-year-old and supervise playtime (indoors or outside in the backyard playset).

Midday:

  • Serve a simple lunch to the toddler.

  • Supervise nap (approximately 12–2 PM).

  • Use nap time to handle household tasks, including:

    • Children’s laundry

    • Dishes and kitchen tidying

    • Toy pickup and general organization

    • Occasional errands (dry cleaners, post office, etc.)

Afternoon:

  • Provide a snack after nap.

  • Walk to pick up the 7-year-old at 3:55 PM.

  • Continue with light childcare and housekeeping duties until 5:30 PM.

Housekeeping Duties:

  • Full housekeeping throughout the week (dishes, tidying, kitchen upkeep)

  • Children’s laundry only

  • General home organization and cleanliness

  • No deep cleaning required

Cooking Duties:

  • Prepare simple, plain meals for the children

  • Accommodate special dietary restrictions as needed (guidance will be provided)

Transportation:

  • Occasional driving for errands with the 2-year-old (car provided with installed car seat)

Ideal Candidate Will Be:

  • Experienced (minimum 5 years in similar nanny/housekeeper roles)

  • Organized, detail-oriented, and proactive

  • Warm, nurturing, and communicative with both children and adults

  • Energetic and enjoys staying busy

  • Able to work independently while following the family’s routines

  • Comfortable around animals

  • Spanish-speaking is a strong plus, but not required - Mom speaks to children in Spanish, and the toddler is primarily Spanish speaking.

Additional Notes:

  • A full orientation day will be provided on 5/19.

  • Parent will be present but recovering from surgery from 5/20 onward.

  • Emergency contacts are nearby in case of urgent needs.

  • Interviews to be held ASAP for a prompt hire.
