Household Manager

San Juan, Puerto Rico

Job Title: Full-Time Household Manager
Location: San Juan, Puerto Rico (Old San Juan area)
Salary: $80,000–$120,000 DOE (including housing/benefits)

A private couple based in San Juan, Puerto Rico is seeking a proactive, highly organized, and bilingual Household Manager to take ownership of their day-to-day personal and household logistics. This is a dynamic and hands-on role that blends household management with personal assistance and administrative support.

The role will evolve over time: initially focused on supporting the family through the construction of their new residence, and eventually shifting to managing the completed property and future staff.

Key Responsibilities:

During Construction Phase:

  • Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and service providers

  • Track progress on construction-related tasks and flag delays or issues

  • Oversee deliveries, manage receipts/invoices, and organize relevant documentation

  • Serve as a point of contact for vendors, ensuring quality and timely work

  • Assist with logistics and organization at the family’s temporary apartment

  • Fly or travel as needed for meetings or vendor coordination

Ongoing Responsibilities:

  • Manage and maintain household operations (supplies, maintenance schedules, etc.)

  • Organize cleaning schedules and ensure property is guest-ready at all times

  • Assist with planning and executing small dinners or social gatherings

  • Provide basic meal prep as needed

  • Run errands, manage to-do lists, and handle follow-up items

  • Assist with personal administrative needs (e.g., communicating with accountants/lawyers, managing documents, calendar coordination)

  • Source and manage vendors and household staff (as added in future)

  • Bridge language gaps when dealing with local services (English/Spanish)

  • Research tools, processes, or services to streamline household operations

  • Be available on-call as needed for urgent or time-sensitive matters

Ideal Candidate:

  • Experienced in personal assistant and/or household manager roles — no training wheels here

  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and comfortable working independently

  • Discreet, professional, and intuitive about when to step in or step back

  • Strong communicator who follows through and keeps the principals updated

  • Calm, solutions-focused, and flexible in navigating shifting needs or schedules

  • Fluent in English and Spanish (required)

  • Tech-comfortable: proficient with calendars, digital organization tools, messaging platforms

  • Must be based in (or willing to relocate to) Old San Juan or nearby — housing stipend provided

Schedule:

Monday–Friday, 9am–5pm with flexibility as needed

This is a long-term opportunity with room for growth as the household expands. The family values trustworthiness, initiative, and a “no task too small” mindset.
