Occasionally taking mail to the post office, dropping something off at UPS. Supervising home maintenance service calls (upholstery cleaning, window washers),
What Works Best for Family: She is looking for someone smart, friendly, personable and conscientious. Someone who takes pride in their work. Ideally, she works best with someone who can follow instructions, and learn how she likes things and then become proactive about cleaning and tidying up. Also, someone who can follow appliance instructions for maintenance and can maintain a schedule to service appliances. They appreciate someone who notices things: When is something broken and can they fix it. And if they can't, can they call the handyman in the building? When they are out of a food staple and they can put it on the shopping list without being asked. When the shoes in the hallway started piling up, can they just take the initiative and put them away. Caring for and cleaning up after the cat can be a larger than normal part of the job, sometimes. One of the cats has cancer and has been vomiting. The client bought a great, hand-help carpet cleaner to deal with this and sometimes it'll be in use a few times during the week. Also, someone who speaks excellent English.
