Newborn Care Specialist – Day Shift (Arlington, VA)
Start Date: On or around September 12, 2025
Baby: Newborn Girl (Scheduled C-section)

We are seeking a warm, experienced, and reliable Newborn Care Specialist to support a family in Arlington, VA during the daytime hours following the birth of their baby girl (due via scheduled C-section in September). This is a temporary, full-time daytime role working alongside an overnight NCS who is already in place from 10pm–7am.

Schedule Options:

• 7:00am–7:00pm or

• 7:00am–10:00pm
  Exact hours to be confirmed based on candidate availability and family needs.

Responsibilities Include:

• Providing full daytime care for the newborn

• Managing feedings, diaper changes, and nap schedules

• Maintaining a clean and organized nursery environment

• Supporting and educating the mother as she recovers from a C-section

• Offering guidance on infant care routines and best practices

• Keeping detailed logs of the baby’s feeding, sleeping, and diapering

• Collaborating with the overnight NCS for a smooth handoff of care

Ideal Candidate:

• Certified Newborn Care Specialist or equivalent experience

• Knowledgeable in newborn development and postpartum recovery

• Calm, patient, and confident in sole charge of newborn care

• Able to maintain structure and consistency in the baby’s routine

• Kind and supportive presence for mom

• Local to the DC/VA area

Compensation: Starting at $25-$30/hr. Competitive depending on experience!
