Job Title: Compassionate Caregiver for Woman with Dementia
Location: Meadowbrook, PA
Schedule: Part-Time to Start (10am–8pm), Transitioning to Full-Time | Potential for Live-In Role
Salary: $35 to $40/hour DOE
We are seeking a compassionate and emotionally intelligent caregiver to support a 79-year-old widow living alone in Meadowbrook, PA. She is currently in the mid-stage of dementia and experiences notable short-term memory loss and repetitive behaviors. The ideal candidate will be warm, patient, respectful, and capable of offering gentle guidance while honoring her independence and dignity.
Initially part-time (10am–8pm), this position has the potential to grow into a full-time and possibly live-in role. Flexibility for occasional overnight coverage in the future is strongly preferred.
Provide companionship and emotional support throughout the day
Offer gentle reminders for medications, meals, and personal hygiene
Prepare simple, nourishing meals
Assist with light housekeeping tasks
Engage in respectful redirection when managing repetitive conversations or minor resistance
Encourage autonomy while maintaining a safe and structured environment
Naturally warm, kind, and emotionally intelligent
Patient, upbeat, and conversational, with a gentle sense of humor
Skilled at setting boundaries without being confrontational or directive
Respectful of personal space and capable of guiding routines without overwhelming the client
Able to remain calm and positive when faced with repetitive or passive-aggressive behaviors
Experience working with clients who have dementia, particularly in mid-stages with cognitive decline and behavioral patterns
Caregivers with high emotional resilience and patience, even without formal dementia training, are welcome to apply
Previous success navigating complex or sensitive interpersonal dynamics in caregiving roles
