• Ideally 11:00 AM - 7:00 PM or 12:00 PM - 8:00 PM

Compensation: $30-$35/hour

Job Description:

We are seeking a proactive and versatile Family Assistant to help with light housekeeping, laundry, organization, and cooking duties. This candidate will join a welcoming family in Setauket, New York. The family includes two children, aged almost 5 and 3, with a third child due in the fall. The children are semi-home-schooled and attend school as well. Ideal for someone who thrives in a clean and structured environment and can work independently with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities:

Family Assistance:

• Provide support for after-school activities and outings.
• Possibly drive children to after-school activities as needed (not a primary requirement).
• Assist with light household tasks to ensure the smooth running of the household.

Light Housekeeping:

• Perform light cleaning tasks to maintain a tidy and organized home environment.
• Collaborate with a deep cleaner who visits every other week (no cleaning of toilets required).

Cooking:

• Prepare meals following a plant-based diet with occasional fish/meat (post-pregnancy).
• Assist with chopping and cooking to prepare nutritious meals for the family.
• Maintain a clean and organized kitchen.

Qualifications:

• Experience in family assistance roles, with a focus on household support and occasional childcare assistance.
• Ability to handle light housekeeping tasks independently.
• Experience in cooking, preferably with knowledge of plant-based diets.
• Reliable, self-sufficient, and able to work in a family-oriented environment.
• Flexibility to adapt to changing schedules and family needs.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record 

Working Conditions:

• Part-time position, 3 days a week (Monday, Thursday, and either Tuesday or Wednesday).
• Work hours from either 11:00 AM - 7:00 PM or 12:00 PM - 8:00 PM totaling to 25 hours per week.
• Limited childcare duties; primary responsibility is to assist with activities and household tasks.
• Supportive and collaborative family environment.
