Nutritional Private Chef (Manhattan/Hamptons)

Job Title: Private Chef

Location: Manhattan, NY

Compensation: $150k; Health Insurance

Schedule: Monday - Friday 1pm - 8pm; October – May (Manhattan)
Wednesday - Sunday Hours TBD (Hamptons)

A busy professional woman in Lincoln Square, Manhattan is seeking an experienced Private Chef to prepare nutritious, dairy-free meals with a diverse and creative menu. The ideal candidate is skilled in healthy cooking, highly organized, and adaptable to seasonal schedule shifts between Manhattan (October–May) and the Hamptons (May–September).

Position Details & Travel Requirements:

  • Manhattan (October – May) | Monday – Friday
    • Lunch served around 2:00 PM or packed to-go
    • Dinner prepared and served every evening
    • Breakfast prepped in advance for easy reheating
  • Hamptons (May – September) | Wednesday – Sunday 
    • Preparing breakfast, lunch, and dinner for the client, extended family, and children
    • Days off: Sunday afternoon – Wednesday morning
  • Holidays & Special Events:
    • Assist with cooking/serving holiday dinners and special gatherings as needed
    • Familiarity with traditional Jewish holiday foods is preferred

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and prepare healthy, dairy-free meals tailored to the client’s preferences
  • Maintain variety in meal planning while ensuring high nutritional value
  • Grocery shopping, sourcing high-quality ingredients, and managing pantry inventory
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked kitchen
  • Adjust meals for dietary preferences of the extended family during Hamptons months
  • Pack meals for the client to take to work as needed
  • Assist with Jewish holidays and special event meal preparation and service
  • Respect household boundaries, as the client sometimes works from home

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a private chef or in high-end culinary settings
  • Expertise in healthy, dairy-free cuisine with a strong understanding of nutrition
  • Ability to adapt menus seasonally and cater to a variety of preferences
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage kitchen operations independently
  • Willingness to travel to the Hamptons for the summer months and adjust to an expanded household
  • Professional, discreet, and respectful demeanor—must not be overly chatty, as the client values privacy
  • Experience with holiday meal planning and execution
  • Excellent communication skills and a keen sense of boundaries
